Online Card Class – Day 6

By Cards

onlinecardclass

Hi all,

We are on to week 2 of online card class and I am anxiously waiting to see what is in store for the week. Today’s cards were so creative and inspiring in theme. For homework the designers asked that we use one of their outlined sketches to create our card. I used Kristina Werner’s sketch and came up with my design.

Here’s my contribution for day 6

Online Card Class – Day 7

Hi all,

We are on to day 7 of our online card class. Today’s theme was single layer cards made clean and simple. I absolutely loved the cards posted by Julie Ebersole. Prior to this class I hadn’t really known her as a designer, but I am truly inspired by her creations and character. Her card had so much dimension and layers using ink, but no bulk.  Amazing! For today’s card I took the theme of masking and inking to create my card.

Here it is!

Online Card Class – Day 8

Hi all,

Today marks day 8 of the online card class and I”m excited to try the newest technique I have learned. It involves using salt after watercolor/distressing. I used it on the tricolored piece of watercolor paper on my card and am intriqued by the results. I do like the effect, however, I think if I had used darker colors it would have been more dramatic. Anyhow, I think it’s an awesome technique and will keep it in mind for future cards.

Here is my card for day 8

Hi all,

We’re on day 9 and I am blown away by the cards presented in today’s class. Jennifer McGuire introduced me to the world of pleated cards and I just had to try out the technique for myself. I think this card is by far my favorite for the week and I am so excited to adapt it to a project I am working on for the upcoming month.

Here is my card and new technique demonstrated for day 9:
