Thanksgiving Fall Wreaths

By Room Decor

Hi all,

About a year ago I posted about making mini wreaths.

Here’s the link if you’d like a quick refresher on the post: https://www.joliesamuel.com//handmade-flowers-for-handmade-wreaths/

Last year I sold out of these little gems. So this  year I decided to make them, but a bit smaller and with different embellishments. I loved the way they turned out and find them the perfect accent piece to some of my home decor. They’d also make a great coworker gift!

On a beautiful fall day like today, I couldn’t help myself and headed outside for a quick photo.

Happy Monday – Here’s to the start of a great week!

Think Pink – Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge

By Cards

Thinking Of You

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a time when we bring awareness to the fight for a cure. It’s especially a time when organizations show their support for fundraising and awareness. So as you could imagine, I was pleased to find that many crafters were also participating by creating fun challenges for their readers. I decided to join in on the fun too.

Robyn, My Pink Stamper, asked her viewers to join her in a Think Pink challenge in which she asked crafters to use pink patterns as a base for a card. Here is the design I came up with to contribute to the challenge.

I cut 1 inch squares using several papers and created a pink grid. I added in a ribbon and used a back-folding technique for extra texture. I used my circuit die cutting machine to create some cancer ribbons and a heart. Lastly, I used a simply sentiment and stamped it in black.

I think it turned out pretty well for one of my first attempts at a greeting card! More than anything, I simply enjoy participating in a noteworthy cause.

Distress Ink & Paper Piecing Bridal Card

By Cards

Hi all,

Welcome back! I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer.

For today’s card I wanted to try using an alphabet stamp set to create my sentiment. I’m one that almost always chooses to use a sentiment that’s ready to go. I don’t mess around with my stamps by splitting them apart, I like things already assembled and ready to go for me. So as you may guess, this card in particular took quite some time to conceptualize. However, once I had an idea of what I wanted, it came together pretty quickly. I knew I wanted to use the scooter element in a whimsical way, and the rest of the card just fell into place immediately after I had the element figured out.

Here’s the how-to on the card:

Here’s a look at the finished card.
