Sparkle, Shine and Watercolors

By Cards

Hi All,

Welcome to another day of easy card ideas. For today’s card I wanted to try my hands at watercoloring a background. I’m pretty new to the watercoloring world and recently received the Koi watercolor set as a Christmas gift. I thought it would be the perfect time to break it out and try some of those soft valentine type colors.

To create this card I used some Carson watercolor paper and saturated the entire front with some water. I then grabbed some paint colors and use quite a bit of water to get them activated and moving on the paper. I must admit it wasn’t looking all to great when wet, but as I hit it with my heat gun (to speed up the drying process) I really liked the softness it had.

Once I finished the background I stamped the circle and sentiment using a Simon Says Stamp set I received in my December kit. Love those kits! Lastly, I added a bit of shimmer using my wink of stella glitter pen & some sequins.

Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for a new video post tomorrow featuring this technique and some quick valentine’s day cards ideas.

So Happy for You

Hey all,

I’m in the process of creating all new cards for my etsy shop, private sales and consignment. Needless to say it is quite the task so I don’t plan on having much in store until Sept 7th.

In the meantime I’ll post a few peeks at cards I’ve creating in the brainstorming process of items I will put into the store.

Today, I wanted to play around with some neutral colors that could be used for multiple occassions. This card features striped and geometric patterns mixed with a very floral. Typically I wouldn’t think to mix the two patterns together, but I think in such a small amount it’s quite pretty.

Also, I’m trying to use up some of the paper flower embellishments I have in stock. Here’s one way to to use them – as centers to illustrated flowers!Happy-Floral-Card

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be back with an all new card real soon!

Regal Royal Blue Wedding Card

By Cards

Hi all,

Quite a while back I purchased this Imperial Jewel rubber cling stamp from Stampendous and absolutely loved how massive of a stamp it is. It’s easily a stamp that can be used to create a big ornate background, or an image that can be stamped and colored in (like a coloring book of sorts).

I decided to give it a more regal look by using Glam Gold embossing powder on a navy blue background. It looks so classy!

I then used a ‘hand written’ sentiment by Altenew and finished off the card.

Just look at all that detail in this card. It measures a bit larger than a standard size at 5.5in by 5.5in.

Such a beauty! These would also make a fabulous wedding invitation card in the same scheme.wedding-card-2

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed! Have a fabulous day.
