Gnome For The Holidays

By Cards

Hi All,

Today I have 2 holiday cards to share. I wanted to crank out some Christmas cards for friends and a few for the craft show this weekend. For this card I used stamps from Simon Says Stamp and color blended with Derwent Inktense Pencils. Inktense pencils are similar to color pencils in looks, but work like watercolors in that they blend well with water. The final look gives a bit of a gradient without any pencil stroke marks.

Here’s the watercolored gnome trimmed out and given a christmas themed background.

I added in a coordinating interior design on this card (not pictured). I think it turned out pretty cute.

Merry Christmas Dear

Hi All,

This is part 2 to my other post today. I used the same techniques for this card (inktense pencils and color blending). This stamp set from Simon is great for sentiments with a play on words. I thought the play on ‘deer’ vs. ‘dear’ was adorable.

Here’s the deer that I colored using Inktense pencils.

I’m hoping to have a few more cards done before the craft show and can’t wait to share them with you soon!

Joy to the World

By Cards

Hi All,

I got another Christmas card to share with you today! For this card I wanted to try out a new shape and design. I designed the entire card using my silhouette cutting machine and some good quality cardstock.

By the way, I have a sentiment on the inside (I will post a picture over on etsy). It reads “Merry Everything”. LOL It covers all your holiday wishes for family and friends.

Glad Tidings of Great Joy!

By Cards

Hi All,

Who’s ready for winter?! Oh man, I am so pumped for winter and all the holiday festivities it brings. In anticipation for the upcoming holiday season I have started to create Christmas cards. I will likely have a new one to share each day leading up to the week before Christmas. If you are interested in any of the cards please leave a comment and let me know! I’d love to hear feedback on which styles, colors, and themes you like!

On to today’s card.

For this card, I wanted to try out some inking techniques and create a snowbank. I achieved this look with some masking and 2 tone color blending of inks. I loved the results of the technique. It looks like it is watercolor with several layers of color, but truly it is a white base with 2 blues.
