Gift Card Holders

By Cards, Planner Stationary & Accessories

Hi All,

Welcome back! Today I wanted to share with you a fun little way I’ve been using to wrap gift cards. I’m the type person that likes to put a personal touch on each and every item I gift to another person and gift cards are no exception. Depending on the individual, I try to find a coordinating pattern (or create one) of gift wrap to suit his or her personality. The ones shown here are by Bella Lux. I am in love with the beautiful watercolor themes they create!

There are many tutorials online that feature origami folding and ways to create pockets for letters. Several of those are great ways to wrap a gift as well! There is no glue or paste involved in this project. It is simply a matter of cutting a sheet of 8.25″ square paper and folding it to create this pocket. To clean up the inside I just cut a sheet of craft paper to size to fit.

To close the holder I went with a simple white grosgrain ribbon which I tied into a bow and trimmed the edges.

How simple and fun are these?

Mother’s Day Postage Stamp Greeting Card

By Cards

mothersdaypostagestamp

Hi all,

I’m back with an all new mother’s day card to share. For this card, I wanted to create a postage stamp as the main focal point of the card. At first I thought I wondered how I could find a postage stamp large enough to feature, then I realized how simple it could be to create one in silhouette studio.

To break things down think of the postage stamp as a rectangle and the edge is created by welding in a row of circles. I added in some various sizes of words for the sentiment and a beautiful die-cut of roses.

Here’s a closeup of those roses – look at all that sparkle!

Happy Mother’s Day Banner Greeting Card

By Cards

mothersdaybanner

Hi all,

I’m back with another card for mother’s day. Again I chose to use my silhouette to create the sentiment. I had a set of these gorgeous banner die-cuts that I wanted to use at the very top of the card. I adjusted my settings accordingly in silhouette studio and created my large sentiment.

To finish the card, I used a white gel pen around the edges to create a look of faux stitching.

As you can see I am still into the corals and teals. I love how this card also incorporates some soft yellows. Also, every other banner is sparkly…did you notice? This card is just so shimmery and bright in the light. I love it!

I hope you have a lovely afternoon and thanks for stopping by!

Mother’s Day Greeting Card – Lucky Few

LoveLifeBalloon

Hi all,

I can’t believe how quickly the year is flying by. As a cardmaker I often try to grab a head start on the next holiday occasion and put out some cards that are appropriate each holiday. It seems like I just finished wrapping up valentine’s day and now we’re already onto mother’s day!

I wanted to concentrate on the corals and teals for this season’s cards and decided to use a common color scheme for the cards. This is one I created using silhouette studio. The sentiment was created using a couple fonts I recently purchased.

For added dimension the card background I used a small dot embossing pattern. Love the texture there! The balloon is a die-cut image that I had and I popped that up off the card using a foam adhesive.

I absolutely love the way this card turned out. I don’t know what it is about this color combo, but I am stuck on it like glue! So pretty!

Have a great day and see you next time.
